The IATI Standard

The International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) is a global initiative to make aid information more accessible and useful. IATI signatories represent a broad coalition of bilateral, multilateral, and private donor organizations committed to making their work more transparent. IATI has been endorsed by a number of developing countries as well.

The IATI data standard, finalized in February 2011, consists of electronic standards, schemas, codelists, and developer and user documentation designed to allow aid donors to organize information on their activities in a streamlined, comparable format.

The standard has three components:

To access data in IATI format, visit the IATI registry, which serves as a global directory of IATI-compatible information provided directly by donors.

All information in the main AidData database can be exported in IATI format. To help users interested in browsing IATI-formatted information, AidData is also developing a feed from the IATI registry. Check back soon for this feature.
